Job summary

Ōura is seeking a Senior CMF Quality Engineer in San Francisco to lead CMF color, material, and finish quality across global suppliers. The role interfaces with CMF Designers, PD, Manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure cosmetic consistency from concept to mass production.

The candidate will own quality systems for CMF sampling, master standards, and golden samples, and drive measurement methods like colorimetry and gloss testing across coating processes. Hybrid US role based in the SF Bay Area.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Supplier Manufacturing Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, or CMF/Surface Finishing Engineering.
• Experience with coatings, platings, or surface treatment processes.
• Strong knowledge of color science and measurement fundamentals (colorimetry, spectrophotometry, Delta-E).

Responsibilities

• Support NPI through development builds, ramp-up, mass production, and steady state expansion for CMF surfaces and finishes.
• Own and maintain master color/material standards, golden samples, and build units.
• Develop quality systems, control plans, and measurement methods for coatings and surface treatments.
• Lead build readiness reviews focused on CMF quality deliverables and process improvements.
• Communicate CMF process risks using data-driven approaches across teams and suppliers.
