Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a highly technical Senior CMF Designer to join the Bellevue, WA Industrial Design team. You will define CMF standards, partner with manufacturing to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions, and ensure cosmetic quality across a diverse hardware portfolio.

You will lead CMF strategy, material evaluation, on-site color matching, and global supplier collaboration while maintaining design intent and manufacturing feasibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial design or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of hardware product development experience.
• 10+ years of technical product/program management experience.
• 10+ years of experience collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Experience defining CMF strategies from concept to mass production.
• Experience managing complex programs with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
• Proficiency with industrial-design CAD/visualization tools (Rhino/SolidWorks/Creo/KeyShot).
• Willingness to travel internationally to supplier/manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities

• Define, develop, and scale a holistic CMF strategy across the Warfighter Systems portfolio.
• Evaluate advanced materials, coatings, and sustainable manufacturing methods.
• Lead on-site color-matching sessions under standardized lighting conditions.
• Serve as SME for cosmetic quality at supplier and manufacturing sites.
• Document and implement Cosmetic Quality Specification (CQS) with global partners.
• Create and maintain CMF specs, samples, and process requirements for assembly precision.
• Develop tracking systems and workflows to manage CMF specs throughout product lifecycle.
• Lead design and research operations, including roadmaps and backlogs.
• Collaborate with design, research, and leadership on prioritization and risk management.
• Provide status updates and escalate issues when needed.
