Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved program or equivalent work experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Minimum three years as a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
  • MA certification or registry from a recognized body (CCMA, CMA, CMAC, NCMA, NRCMA, NRCAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT/AMCA, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Accountable to the Assistant Nurse Manager or Practice Manager for operational issues.
  • Participates in quality initiatives and clinical outcome improvements.
  • Maintains professional communication with patients and families.
  • Collaborates with administrative and operations staff.
  • Gathers patient data through interview and observation.
  • Assists patients and families with examination preparation.
  • Assists the physician or APP during examinations and procedures.
  • Documents patient data, treatments, and education in the EMR per policy.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school
Minimum three years as Certified Medical Assistant
Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification
MA certification/registry per NHA, AAMA, AMCA, NCCT, NAHP, AMT/ARMA/AAH
