Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support Flower Mound and Lewisville Castle Hills locations. This full-time role may be level 1, 2, or Sr depending on experience and includes exams, injections, and preventive patient care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• 0–3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
• Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Record patient data prior to physician visits (vital signs, height, weight, allergies, meds).
• Obtain patient records as required by physician.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated.
• Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answer patient calls and refer to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Place prescriptions and communicate with patients as directed by physicians.
• Inform physician of reschedules and no-shows.
• Perform other administrative duties as needed.
