Job summary

CM Truck Beds seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the CTO engineering team, overseeing NPD, VAVE, product upgrades, and custom quoting for truck bed and service body lines. You will drive modular architecture, cost-down initiatives, and a connected digital thread from CPQ to ERP.

You will build a resilient engineering organization, coach two focused team leads, and ensure documented processes with backups to eliminate single points of failure while aligning with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience leading CTO/NPD manufacturing environments (truck equipment/upfitting or related) is highly preferred.
• Experience leading NPD programs, VAVE initiatives, product upgrades, and custom quoting from concept through production.
• Strong grounding in DFM/DFA, design reviews, BOM/part-numbering and ECN/change management.
• Working knowledge of digital-thread systems (CPQ, PLM, ERP, CAD) and modular/standardization strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the CM/CTO engineering team day-to-day, developing two team leads: one for custom orders & quoting, one for NPD & product upgrades.
• Build a resilient team with documented processes, cross-trained backups, and no single points of failure.
• Own coaching, assignments, and performance management; recommend promotions and role definitions.
• Drive custom-order throughput and quote turnaround for CM opportunities; ensure quoting is documented and repeatable.
• Provide accurate, competitive cost-estimating and quoting inputs; own delivery of NPD programs and product upgrades.
• Embed value-analysis/value-engineering (VAVE) as an ongoing capability and promote modular architecture.
