Job summary

Centinela Hospital Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare Services, seeks a Laboratory Section Supervisor/Technical Lead to oversee daily lab operations in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and more. The role requires ASCP certification, a California CLS license, and at least five years of clinical lab experience.

You will supervise testing quality, staff competency, and adherence to CLIA and state regulations while coordinating with medical staff on performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology required.
• Minimum of five years' clinical laboratory experience required.
• Active California CLS license required; limited/specialty licenses may be considered with scope constraints.

Responsibilities

• Functions as Department Section Technical Supervisor/Lead, supervising daily operation of sections.
• Provides consultative services to medical staff as Technical Consultant.
• Oversees section performance improvement program and participates in hospital interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Is responsible for technical and fiscal management of sections; ensures quality management/assurance compliance.
• Maintains equipment, documentation, and staff competency; ensures timely reporting of results.

Education

ASCP certification, or equivalent

Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology

Minimum of five years' clinical laboratory experience

Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license
