Job summary

Qualifications

• ASCP certification or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical/biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology required.
• Minimum of five years’ clinical laboratory experience required.
• Active California CLS license required; related limited/specialty licenses may be considered within scope of license regulations.

Responsibilities

• Functions as the department Section Technical Supervisor/Lead and supervises daily operation of the section(s).
• Provides consultative services to medical staff as Technical Consultant and oversees performance improvement program.
• Oversees technical and fiscal management of the section(s) and the section quality management/assurance program.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements and maintains currency of all laboratory policies and procedures.
• Performs diverse laboratory tests and ensures proper staff competency documentation and reporting.

Education

ASCP certification, or equivalent

Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology

Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license
