Job summary

Compass, Inc. seeks a Senior Tools Developer/Maintainer to guide tool evaluations and develop automation for mission-critical environments. The role focuses on cloud-enabled, agile tool development across NGA IT ecosystems, including OpenShift and AWS.

Responsibilities include tool integration, documentation, and cloud migrations with an emphasis on security, compliance, and scalable architectures for classified and unclassified systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS or similar cloud infra.
• Windows or Linux system administration and performance monitoring.
• Experience supporting IT security activities including STIG, IAVA, ATT/ATO.
• Documentation of IT infrastructure plans and upgrades.
• Backup operations and data protection procedures.
• Troubleshooting and incident resolution with minimal disruption.

Responsibilities

• Assess and support integration of tools into NGA IT unclassified and classified environments.
• Prepare program- and user-level documentation.
• Maintain applications, databases, and platforms on classified/unclassified cloud environments.
• Migrate engineering tools to the cloud per NGA policy and guidance.
• Document processes to achieve ATO for cloud migrations.
• Oversee VPC environments in OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS/C2S or similar clouds.
• Install, configure, backup and secure virtual servers for classified operations.
• Monitor capacity, storage, and database performance.
• Provide cloud hosting cost analysis and monitor burn rates.
• Guide implementation and maintenance of tools like ServiceNow, DOORS Next Gen, System Architecture.
