Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer for a remote, full-time role supporting the Veterans Affairs (VA).

The position requires strong cloud, security, and system administration skills to manage large-scale production environments. Candidates should have hands-on AWS/Azure, Linux/Windows, scripting, CI/CD, IaC, and monitoring experience, plus a Public Trust clearance. U.S. citizenship is required; W-2 employment with remote work arrangement.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of systems engineering experience in production environments.
• 3+ years of SQL query and monitoring experience.
• U.S. Citizenship required; Public Trust clearance eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Systems Eng or related field.
• Experience with AWS/Azure, Linux/Windows, and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support of complex cloud systems.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Document problems in logging and discrepancy tools.
• Work directly with customers in day-to-day activities.
• Maintain computing infrastructure and security compliance.
• Implement continuous improvement via IT systems and procedures.
