Job summary

Sphere Entertainment Co. is seeking a Senior System Development Engineer to join the Cloud Services team. You will design, deploy, and maintain production applications and datastores, while enabling efficient, secure production workflows across the studio and production pipelines.

Responsibilities include migrating on-prem services to the cloud, coordinating with pipeline engineers and stakeholders, and building scalable, secure solutions with IaC. Location is onsite with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 8 years’ minimum experience developing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining infrastructure and services in a cloud environment.
• Strong experience designing secure cloud VPCs, firewalls, and routing tables.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms; GCP experience required
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IAC) tools (Terraform, CDK, Palumi).
• Experience with REST, microservices, serverless, pub/sub patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD).
• Experience with monitoring/APM tools (Prometheus/Grafana, DataDog, Sentry, NewRelic).
• Experience with Flow Production Tracking (ShotGrid) a plus
• Experience with render managers (Deadline) a plus
• Detail-oriented with strong communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain production applications, services, and datastores
• Design, deploy, and monitor cloud infrastructure that enablesProduction workflows
• Migrate legacy on-prem services to cloud-based infrastructure
• Lead collaboration between pipeline engineers, end users, and stakeholders to create secure scalable solutions
• Implement changes in an IaC deployment workflow
• Monitor, refine, and optimize cloud service architecture and resource usage
• Ensure on-site guests, partners, and team members have excellent experiences while adhering to appearance guidelines
