Job summary

Lyntris, a defense technology company, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to stand up and maintain AWS infrastructure supporting PLM software for DoD customers. You will implement updates, patches, scaling, and secure deployments in production and non-production environments.

The role requires 5–8 years of AWS experience, Security+ and DoD clearance, and the ability to work independently with cross-functional teams in a hybrid Onsite/Remote setting in St. Paul, MN.

Qualifications

• Currently hold Security+ certification.
• Currently hold relevant AWS certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or other engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with and setting up AWS cloud services to host enterprise applications.
• Experience managing Ansible playbooks.
• Experience with AWS licensure.
• Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Fleet Manager, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.
• Experience maintaining and optimizing performance of enterprise applications hosted in the cloud.
• Experience diagnosing networking related issues.
• Experience managing Active Directory and AppStream.
• Experience collaborating with AWS Technical Support.
• Experience setting up and working with Virtualized Environments.
• Experience with installation and maintenance of database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and SQL scripting.
• Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8+ and Windows Server administration using CLI.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Propensity and excitement for learning new applications in the PLM space.
• Currently holds an active U.S. national security clearance or be able to receive and maintain one.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business and security requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Plan, Implement, and Refine cloud-based infrastructure (AWS) with a mind for performance/scalability/cost savings.
• Utilize Ansible playbooks for automation, and secure applications with PKI, TLS/SSL certificates, and secure authentication.
• Administer RDS Oracle and RDS PostgreSQL databases, including seeding, schema configurations, scripts, and performance tuning.
• Install and upgrade PLM application software, applying patch sets and fixing vulnerabilities across infra and apps.
• Oversee hosts/data refreshes on non-production environments as needed.
• Conduct unit, integration, and system testing to maintain performance.
• Debug complex defects and perform investigations affecting performance and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for environment infrastructure.
• Establish and maintain certifications in PLM, Cloud, and Security platforms/technology.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
