Job summary

Verily Health is seeking a senior software engineer to lead complex, end-to-end projects in the Workbench team. You will design scalable cloud-based data workflows, mentor teammates, and partner with customers to translate needs into robust solutions.

You will work across GCP and AWS, using Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes, and contribute to secure, production-grade systems for biomedical research initiatives. This role offers challenging problems and significant impact on health outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and building production software with deep software design and architecture
• Expert-level Python and fluency in at least one other language
• Strong hands-on cloud/platform engineering across GCP and AWS incl. IAM, security, networking, IaC, containers, CI/CD
• Track record of owning ambiguous, high-stakes customer-facing technical work end to end
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Own the hardest problems end to end from discovery to a working solution
• Raise the engineering bar with rigorous design, code review, and mentorship
• Engineer the cloud foundation across GCP and AWS, incl. IAM, security, networking, IaC, containers, CI/CD
• Build at scale with batch workflows and interactive analysis notebooks
• Partner with customers to analyze needs and train customers and partners
