Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native solutions in the digital health space. You will build high‑performance microservices with Java/JEE, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud, and steer API strategy and governance while mentoring teammates.

This role emphasizes data migration, ETL pipelines, and healthcare data standards (HL7/FHIR) in a SecDevOps context on GCP.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
5+ years with Java/JEE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, RESTful microservices.
3+ years of Apache Kafka (event streaming, partitions, consumer groups, schema registry).
3+ years CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, automated testing.
3+ years Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud orchestration.
2+ years of hands-on experience with Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure).

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and develop high-performance microservices using Java, JEE, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
Lead development of event-driven services using Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, streaming patterns, schema evolution).
Own API strategy for RESTful services, ensuring consistent JSON modeling, backward-compatible versioning, and strong API governance.
Mentor team members and contribute to engineering standards, design reviews, and coding best practices.
Design ETL pipelines and manage data migrations to cloud and data platforms.
