Job summary

Verily Health is seeking a senior Workbench Solutions Engineer to serve as a craftsperson, cloud/platform engineer, and trusted customer partner. You will be a technical anchor for the team, tackling the hardest, most ambiguous problems and setting high design standards.

You will architect and operate secure cloud environments on GCP and AWS, build scalable data workflows, and mentor others while helping biomedical researchers access and analyze data at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and building production software.
• Expert-level Python and fluency in at least one other language.
• Strong hands-on cloud/platform engineering across GCP and AWS, including IAM and security, networking, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), containers (Docker), and CI/CD.
• Track record of independently owning ambiguous, high-stakes customer-facing technical work end to end, with excellent communication and project-management skills.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the hardest problems end to end from discovery through a working, well-designed solution.
• Raise the engineering bar by designing clean, maintainable tooling, integrations, and automation; mentor the team.
• Architect and operate secure, well-run environments across Google Cloud Platform and AWS, including IAM, security, networking, IaC, containers, and CI/CD.
• Build at scale by creating batch workflows and interactive analysis notebooks to process and analyze data; connect customers' data and tools to Workbench.
• Partner with customers, analyze technical needs, and train customers and partners to be successful on Workbench.
