Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island seeks an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead solution design and architecture governance. You will create high-level designs, drive reference implementations, and ensure alignment with regulatory and security standards while guiding cross-functional teams.

Location flexibility includes in-office and hybrid schedules; candidates with healthcare/insurance domain experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT field.
• 5–7 years of software engineering experience with delivery of complex distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms and AI/ML enablement.
• Expert in API management, microservices, and distributed systems architecture.
• Proficient with Salesforce, FACETS, ServiceNow, Matillion, Apigee, Snowflake, and data warehousing tools/practices.

Responsabilités

• Own solution technical designs for medium-to-high complexity features.
• Produce and maintain architecture artifacts (HLDs, current vs target state, diagrams).
• Evaluate design trade-offs (latency vs. throughput, synchronous vs. async).
• Drive reference implementations and POCs.
• Govern design reviews; track risks, assumptions and decisions.
• Identify and validate non-functional requirements (NFR).
• Create and enforce enterprise standards (identity, logging, API standards, cloud patterns).
• Drive projects with evolving artifacts maintaining current-state ecosystem with EA oversight.
• Curate internal knowledge base of capabilities and interdependencies.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.
• Evolve architecture principles and enforce via Architecture Review Board.
• Lead template maintenance for HLD and other artifacts.
• Ensure alignment across enterprise, solution and technical layers.
• Ensure scalability, performance and resilience of critical systems.
• Apply security, compliance and risk management standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
