Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Chief Solutions Architect to support a pending contract award. This remote role provides technical leadership and architectural governance across project teams, establishing standards and guiding modernization from on‑premise systems to AWS cloud services.

The Chief Architect will collaborate with government technical leads, review major architectural decisions, manage risk, and ensure compliance with federal security requirements while optimizing for performance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional certification
• Minimum 8 years' experience in one or more architecture domains (e.g., business architecture, solutions architecture, application architecture)

Responsibilities

• Provide overall technical leadership and architectural governance for the application maintenance and modernization program; act as principal technical authority across project teams
• Establish and maintain enterprise architecture standards
• guide modernization from legacy on-premise systems to AWS cloud services; align technical decisions with operational needs and strategic objectives
• Collaborate with government technical leads; review and approve major architectural decisions
• Oversee technical risk management; ensure compliance with federal security requirements and agency enterprise architecture standards; optimize for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
