Job summary

Peraton seeks a Senior Cloud Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable software for large-scale compute clusters. You will work across the full software lifecycle with independence, providing guidance and shaping architecture.

The role requires Java development expertise, UNIX/Linux experience, and a strong background in CI/CD, IaC tools, and containerization. Onsite availability is expected at client locations with limited telework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 8+ years of experience in software development/engineering
• 6+ years of Java/C/C++ experience
• 5+ years of UNIX/Linux (RedHat-based) experience
• 3+ years of software integration and testing
• Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable solutions, including COTS/GOTS integration
• Troubleshoot and optimize complex systems for performance
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
• Plan tasks, timelines, and technical approaches
• Develop and execute test cases, create SOPs, maintain documentation
• Review designs for accuracy, completeness, and scalability
