Job summary

Sift is seeking a Senior Security Engineer in Seattle to design, implement, and operate security controls across our stack, partnering with engineering, IT, and compliance. You’ll focus on secure coding practices, threat modeling, and audits to strengthen overall security posture.

Responsibilities include embedding with product teams, guiding secure design reviews, and driving improvements in our SDLC with automation and AI-powered tooling. 5+ years of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in security engineering, infra, or app security.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP/AWS).
• Strong programming or scripting skills (Python/Go/Java).
• Knowledge of AI/LLM security risks (prompt injection, supply chain, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate security controls and tooling across Sift's stack.
• Embed with product and platform teams to perform security design reviews.
• Improve the secure SDLC with AI-powered scanning tools in CI/CD.
• Own or co-own vulnerability management workflows and SLAs.
• Develop automation to detect misconfigurations and anomalous activity.
• Participate in security incident response and post-mortems.
• Contribute to security documentation and standards for engineers.
• Support audits and assessments with technical evidence.
• Mentor engineers on secure design and implementation.
