Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to help drive our security cloud engineering vision. You will support the Global Infrastructure & Security organization across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

Responsibilities include designing reusable templates, providing architecture guidance, and embedding security early in the development lifecycle with an emphasis on compliance and scalable security controls.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required.
• 5+ years of practical security experience.
• 5+ years of engineering or software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong AWS and GCP architecting and development knowledge with hands-on cloud security.
• Solid understanding of encryption, IAM, network segmentation, and threat modeling.
• Proactive learner who can handle technical detail and fast changing tech.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain reusable security templates and reference architectures for cloud across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Provide architecture guidance and security reviews to meet industry best practices.
• Drive compliance to security frameworks including CMMC Level 2 where applicable.
• Partner with engineering teams to embed security controls early in the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop cloud security solutions and best practices.
