Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join the Security Engineering team. The role focuses on building secure cloud solutions and reusable templates across AWS, GCP, and Azure, guiding architecture decisions and ensuring compliance.

You will work with engineers to embed security early in development, design reference architectures, and drive security best practices across the organization. A strong background in cloud security and IaC is required.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
• 5+ years of practical security experience.
• 5+ years of engineering or software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong AWS and GCP architecting and development knowledge, including hands-on secure cloud design.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain reusable security templates and reference architectures for cloud deployments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Provide architecture guidance and security reviews to meet industry best practices and standards.
• Drive compliance with security frameworks including CMMC Level 2 in applicable cloud environments.
• Partner with engineering teams to embed security controls early in the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cloud security solutions and standardized best practices.
