Scribd, Inc. is seeking a Staff Cloud Security Engineer to shape the technical direction of Cloud Security across AWS and GCP.

You will lead significant initiatives, strengthen identity models, and enforce secure-by-default guardrails while working with infrastructure, platform, and product teams. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and defining security standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in cloud or infrastructure security engineering, with hands-on production cloud experience.
• Deep expertise in AWS or GCP and security architecture across cloud environments.
• Strong IAM, least-privilege and cross-account access expertise with modern identity models.
• Experience with cloud security posture management and guardrails at scale.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code and automation (Terraform preferred).
• Experience with cloud-native security tools and incident response.

Responsabilités

• Define and evolve cloud security architecture and guardrails across AWS and GCP environments.
• Strengthen IAM, least-privilege, and secure cross-account access.
• Build reusable security capabilities (Terraform modules, policy-as-code) and promote secure defaults.
• Lead security initiatives, mentor engineers, and communicate risk and progress to stakeholders.
