Scribd, Inc. is seeking a Staff Cloud Security Engineer to shape the technical direction of our Cloud Security program across AWS and GCP.

This hands-on leadership role focuses on securing workloads, strengthening identity, and building guardrails to reduce risk across our cloud environments. You will drive architecture, collaborate with infrastructure, CI/CD, and product teams, and mentor engineers while balancing long-term security with engineering velocity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud or infrastructure security with hands-on production experience.
• Deep expertise in at least one of AWS or GCP and fluency in the other.
• Strong identity and access management expertise and cross-account access experience.
• Experience securing cloud workloads including Kubernetes and runtime protection.
• Experience with CSPM/CNAPP and policy-as-code guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Set Cloud Security architecture across AWS and GCP, including guardrails and IAM.
• Secure cloud workloads and delivery paths, including CI/CD security integration.
• Strengthen cloud visibility with telemetry, threat hunting, and incident response coordination.
• Drive Cloud Security strategy and technical direction, prioritize systemic risks.
• Provide mentorship, tooling evaluations, and communicate risk and progress to stakeholders.
