Job summary

EY is seeking a senior engineering professional to lead AI-enabled cloud infrastructure initiatives. You will act as a hands-on technical authority, accelerating automation while ensuring reliability, security, and cost-efficiency across multiple use cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 9-12+ years of relevant experience.
• Substantial experience designing and operating cloud, infrastructure, platform, or site reliability capabilities in production.
• A record of solving complex distributed-system problems and explaining why the chosen solution will work.
• Hands-on expertise with infrastructure as code, modern runtime platforms, networking, identity, and delivery automation.
• Experience defining service objectives and using observability, capacity planning, and recovery testing to improve live systems.
• Evidence of investigating difficult failures, supporting response, and converting lessons into durable remediation.
• Strong coding skills and the ability to validate AI-generated or otherwise automated engineering output independently.
• Experience mentoring engineers and guiding architecture or readiness decisions without relying on formal delivery ownership.
• Up to 50% travel and hybrid office presence required.

Responsibilities

• Build shared cloud foundations and deployment automation for fast-start and consistent operations.
• Use AI-assisted engineering to accelerate development while reviewing, debugging, and testing code.
• Review architectures, migrations, and releases considering reliability, security, performance, and cost.
• Define evidence before launch and address readiness gaps for production services.
• Establish service objectives, observability standards, and operational reviews.
• Test workload assumptions and use performance data to guide scaling decisions.
• Lead deep investigations of failures and verify root causes with system evidence.
• Design resilience tests, recovery exercises, and rollback paths.
• Publish reference implementations, guidance, and runbooks with clear operating boundaries.
• Coach engineers and transfer capabilities to ongoing owners.
