Job summary

EY is seeking a senior cloud engineering leader to serve as the hands-on technical authority for secure, observable AI-enabled services. You will shape production readiness, guide architecture decisions across multiple use cases, and drive cost-aware engineering across Challenger programs.

You will lead the creation of reusable patterns and deployment automation, ensuring reliability and operability as services scale in production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 9–12+ years of relevant experience.
• Substantial experience designing and operating cloud, infrastructure, platform, or site reliability capabilities in production.
• Hands-on expertise with infrastructure as code, modern runtime platforms, networking, identity, and delivery automation.
• Production reliability: defining service objectives and using observability, capacity planning, and recovery testing.
• Incident leadership: investigating difficult failures and durable remediation.
• Automation judgment: coding skills and validating AI-generated or automated output.
• Travel up to 50% and hybrid/onsite office requirement.

Responsibilities

• Build shared cloud foundations and deployment automation.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering to accelerate development while reviewing code.
• Guide architecture reviews, migrations, and releases for reliability.
• Define evidence for production readiness and what changes are needed.
• Establish service objectives, observability, and alerting.
• Test workload assumptions using performance data to guide scaling.
• Lead deep investigations of failures across distributed services.
• Design resilience tests, recovery exercises, and rollback paths.
• Publish reference implementations and runbooks.
• Coach engineers and transfer capabilities to operations teams.
