Job summary

PayPal's Venmo engineering group seeks a Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer in Business Continuity to design and operate disaster recovery automation, chaos experiments, and incident response for critical systems. You will work hands‑on across AWS, containers, and infrastructure as code, mentoring engineers and driving resilience.

You will contribute to runbooks, define recovery objectives, participate in incident game days, and develop tools to automate backup and restore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in computer science or related field.
• 5+ years' experience in software development or a related field.
• 3+ years' experience operating distributed applications 24x7x365, as part of a Cloud Engineering, DevOps, and/or SRE team.

Responsibilities

• Act as a hands-on contributor, while leading by example.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices across the team.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery automation, runbooks, and infrastructure across Venmo's cloud environment.
