Job summary

National Life Group is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform & Site Reliability Engineering Lead to drive cloud platform design, engineering, and integration. You will represent cloud engineering in project initiatives, architecture design, and operational excellence within IT Shared Services.

The role may be located in Dallas (Addison), TX or Montpelier, VT, with onsite four days per week during core days. Strong leadership and a passion for continuous learning are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferred in Computer Science; or relevant work experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, APM tools, source code management, infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering with at least 4 years in a technical leadership role.
• Ability and interest in mentoring technical staff and raising collective technical competencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of cloud-native solutions within Microsoft Azure.
• Drive CI/CD, SRE, and observability capabilities.
• Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, ARM, Other).
• Lead incident resolution and capacity, performance, and risk management.
• Promote Change Management and Problem Management policies (ITIL).
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations to integrate CI/CD and observability practices.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders across engineering and business teams.
