Job summary

A Place for Mom is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to scale and evolve our cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, and SRE practices. You will drive cloud infrastructure, automation, and reliability initiatives across Engineering, Security, and Product teams.

The ideal candidate has deep AWS, IaC, CI/CD, observability, and cloud security experience, with a passion for mentoring and adopting AI-powered tooling to boost engineering productivity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Deep hands-on experience designing, operating, and securing AWS environments.
• Experience with Terraform and infrastructure orchestration tools such as Terramate a plus.
• Experience managing containerized workloads on ECS, EKS, Kubernetes or similar platforms.
• Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI or similar.
• Experience with observability platforms like New Relic, Datadog, CloudWatch, or OpenTelemetry.
• Strong understanding of networking, cloud security, identity management, and distributed systems.
• Experience with automation and scripting using Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction and mentor teams.
• Proven ability to lead infrastructure initiatives and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure across AWS.
• Lead platform engineering initiatives to improve developer productivity and deployment velocity.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform and establish reusable patterns and standards.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and self-service platform capabilities.
• Improve observability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response practices.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve system reliability, performance, and resilience.
• Collaborate with Security teams to strengthen cloud security, access management, and compliance.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies, automation opportunities, and AI-powered tooling.
• Lead technical discussions, architectural reviews, and infrastructure design decisions across teams.
• Mentor engineers and grow DevOps, Platform Engineering, and SRE practices.
