Job summary

KBX Logistics, a Koch company, seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate a modern AWS-first cloud platform. You will own cloud infrastructure, advanced networking, EKS/Kubernetes, service mesh, automation, security, reliability, and cost optimization.

You will partner with software, DevOps, security, and IT leadership to deliver scalable platform solutions, establish standards, and guide cloud decisions. This role emphasizes hands-on engineering and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting production AWS environments with multi-account architecture.
• Experience troubleshooting AWS network connectivity and security at enterprise scale.
• Experience deploying production containers on EKS/ECS, including networking and ingress.
• Experience building reusable cloud infrastructure with Terraform and automating deployments with CI/CD.
• Experience automating with Python or shell scripting.
• Knowledge of cloud security, reliability, monitoring, and incident response.
• Ability to influence cloud strategy and partner with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve secure, scalable AWS infrastructure and multi-account platform solutions.
• Lead the platform strategy for Kubernetes-based platform and shared services.
• Build and govern IaC and GitOps with Terraform, Argo CD, Helm, and GitHub Actions.
• Define platform standards and operational controls for cloud and AI adoption.
• Implement cloud security guardrails (IAM, encryption, secrets).Remediate vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to observability: logging, metrics, tracing; improve operational health.
• Lead incident response and root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with leadership to translate requirements into platform solutions.
• Implement FinOps: cost allocation, tagging, budgeting, forecasting, reporting.
• Provide hands-on leadership in code reviews and architecture reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and influence architecture decisions.
• Evaluate emerging cloud tech and drive adoption for the platform.
