Job summary

CarGurus is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Cloud Enablement team. You will design, implement, and operate scalable platform services that improve developer experience and reliability across the company.

This hands-on role requires building practical solutions that other engineers rely on every day. You will lead IaC, policy, and security initiatives while expanding self-service, governance, and AI tooling integration across our cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in hands-on DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure roles.
• Strong AWS experience with IAM, S3, Lambda, EKS, ElastiCache.
• Proficiency with Terraform and policy engines (Sentinel/Semgrep).
• Experience with Vault and short-lived credentials / dynamic secrets.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical delivery of significant platform capabilities and ADRs for team decisions.
• Manage Terraform workspaces, module registry, and policy implementations.
• Accelerate Vault adoption and dynamic secrets across workloads; move toward zero standing credentials.
• Maintain and operate the Bedrock platform with access controls, cost attribution, and governance.
• Expand AWS self-service catalog and paved-path IaC offerings for teams to provision resources.
• Execute GitHub Actions maturity initiatives and ensure reliable CI/CD infrastructure.
• Mentor teammates, contribute to coding standards, and document patterns.
• Collaborate with Cloud Infra, SRE, DevX, and product Engineering to align on technical boundaries.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response to improve reliability.
• Incorporate AI tooling like Claude Code and Copilot into engineering workflows.
