Job summary

GAINSCO Auto Insurance is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to advance our enterprise platform engineering capabilities. You will drive Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and observability across Azure and VMware environments.

Collaborating with IT Operations, software development, and QA teams, you will modernize deployment processes, strengthen platform reliability, and build scalable capabilities that improve the internal developer experience.

Qualifications

8+ years of IT infrastructure, platform engineering, cloud, or DevOps experience.
5+ years Windows Server and IIS architecture and administration.
3+ years of production Infrastructure as Code experience.
3+ years of Azure DevOps pipeline experience with YAML and migrations.
3+ years working with enterprise observability platforms.
Strong enterprise experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid infrastructure.
Experience managing release and deployment pipelines.
Advanced PowerShell skills and proficiency in scripting.

Responsibilities

Lead design and implementation of Infrastructure as Code across Azure and VMware.
Modernize Azure DevOps pipelines and automated deployment processes.
Establish and promote CI/CD standards across the tech org.
Design observability, config management, and release-management practices.
Partner with IT Operations, Software Development, and Delivery/QA to improve capabilities.
Provide senior technical guidance across platform initiatives.
Support production deployments and participate in after-hours on-call support.
