Job summary

OfferUp is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team and to design, build, and operate the cloud infrastructure, platform tooling, and CI/CD systems that underpin our core applications. You will own end-to-end work from design through deployment and operation.

You will balance hands-on ownership with mentoring and shaping standards, tooling, and golden templates used across the organization, focusing on scalability, reliability, security, and cost across a multi-account

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in cloud engineering, infrastructure, platform, DevOps, or SRE roles.
• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Deep hands-on AWS (GCP preferred) — EKS/GKE, Lambda, networking, IAM, S3, Kinesis, OpenSearch, Route53, Terraform at scale.
• Containers & Delivery: Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), Helm, GitOps (ArgoCD), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Observability & Operations: Datadog, on-call, incident debugging.
• Coding: Java, TypeScript, Python, or Go; scripting and SQL.
• Communication & Leadership: mentor engineers and lead through influence.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure, platform tooling, and CI/CD systems.
• Build cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform for AWS and GCP.
• Own Kubernetes/GitOps platform (EKS/GKE) and related tooling.
• Maintain SDLC speed and safety with CI/CD pipelines and golden templates.
• Lead platform migrations end-to-end, including observability and data-store migrations.
• Drive operational excellence and security, manage secrets and access controls.
• Enable AI/ML developer tooling and mentor engineers.
