Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to own architecture for portfolio‑scale platforms within Corporate Technology. You will shape architecture, drive end‑to‑end delivery, and mentor engineers across teams to ensure secure, scalable practices.

You will guide cross‑platform strategy, collaborate with Product Owners, and lead initiatives spanning multiple products. Expect to work across cloud technologies, APIs, and modern front‑end and back‑end stacks in a fast‑paced agile

Qualifications

• Formal software engineering training or certification.
• 5+ years API software development experience.
• 2+ years AWS experience (ECS/Fargate, SNS, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3).
• 3+ years relational database experience.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code deployments.
• Proven distributed system design experience in large enterprises.
• Strong architectural leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Own portfolio‑level architecture and technical strategy for one or more platforms.
• Lead complex initiatives from discovery to delivery and operations.
• Translate business goals into measurable technical outcomes and drive roadmaps.
• Design and implement cloud‑native solutions with integrations and API extensions.
• Write secure, high‑quality code across languages and frameworks.
• Architect backend services, GraphQL APIs, and modern React UIs.
• Set non‑functional standards (SLOs/SLAs, observability, security) and automate gates.
• Evaluate new technologies and promote secure‑by‑design patterns.
