Job summary

nCino, the world leader in cloud banking, seeks a Senior Platform Engineer in Cloud Infrastructure in Lehi, Utah. You will design and operate AWS infrastructure using CDK, manage core services, and guide architecture for scalable, secure platform capabilities.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with application teams, and lead proof-of-concepts for new services while optimizing costs and reliability. This role emphasizes on-call readiness and proactive debt reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field with 5+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in at least one major programming language.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools (AWS CDK, or similar).
• Own and operate core AWS services including compute (ECS, Lambda), databases (RDS, DynamoDB), container orchestration (EKS/Kubernetes).
• Own and operate various ingress and edge architectures including AWS WAF, CloudFront, load balancers, DNS, TLS at scale.
• Collaborate with application teams to understand infra needs and enable scalable platform capabilities.
• Provide architectural guidance on scalable, reliable, secure, cost-effective infra decisions.
• Mentor engineers on AWS best practices and cloud-native design patterns.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient deployment (Gitlab CI and Argo CD desirable).
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud costs while maintaining performance.
• Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident response for prod infra issues.
• Lead proof-of-concepts to validate new AWS services or patterns.
