Job summary

Samsara is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Cloud Governance Platform team. You’ll help design and implement core governance, IAM, security controls, and software supply-chain protections across our cloud footprint, including AWS and GCP.

You will drive scalable, secure systems end-to-end, collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring others. A focus on customer outcomes, growth mindset, and long-term impact is essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong coding in Golang or Python.
• Experience with cloud security, IAM, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core components of Samsara's Cloud Governance Platform, including IAM, security controls, and software supply-chain security capabilities.
• Contribute to governance and security tooling roadmaps across AWS and GCP.
• Translate regulatory requirements into automated, enforceable controls.
• Build and maintain software supply-chain security tooling (SAST, DAST, CI/CD patterns).
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Product teams to implement cross-functional solutions.
• Share knowledge via code reviews, pairing, and daily collaboration.
• Communicate technical approaches, tradeoffs, and risks clearly in docs and team discussions.
• Promote Samsara’s cultural principles at scale.
