Job summary

OUTSCALE is seeking a seasoned Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and operate the IaaS layer for the OUTSCALE cloud in Houston, TX or Secaucus, NJ. You will drive automation, expand services to new regions, and ensure a secure, high-performing platform in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will implement IaC with Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack, Packer, Jenkins and related tools, manage monitoring and incident response, and contribute to capacity planning and roadmap development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field.
• 8–10 years in infrastructure/cloud engineering or equivalent.
• Strong virtualization and system administration skills.
• Proficiency with AWS-based infrastructure services.
• Scripting/automation with Bash and Python 3.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, operate, and maintain the OUTSCALE cloud platform focusing on scalability, performance, reliability and security.
• Build and maintain IaC and automation pipelines (Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack, Packer, Jenkins).
• Automate deployments and regional expansions through repeatable release processes.
• Improve platform performance, resilience, and cost efficiency while evolving the system.
• Define and track SLIs, SLOs, SLAs and other metrics.
• Lead incident investigations and participate in on‑call rotation.
• Create/runbooks and documentation; share knowledge across teams.
