Job summary

Target’s Cloud & Compute organization seeks a Senior Engineer to design and gain insight into the application architecture. You will distill complex architectures into concrete designs and influence implementation while applying patterns for robust, scalable systems.

As an engineer you will work across Kubernetes and container platforms, compute and storage, data movement, observability, and developer-facing capabilities to help Target move faster with confidence.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python; TypeScript/JavaScript is a plus.
• Experience designing, building, and operating scalable distributed systems and cloud platforms.
• Hands-on in Kubernetes, containers, compute, storage, networking, messaging or streaming, observability, SRE, and APIs.
• Ability to deliver high-quality technical solutions with performance, availability, latency, security and cost efficiency.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate Agile concepts and influence product team.
