Job summary

System One seeks an experienced Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to strengthen its enterprise Analytics, Data Science, and Machine Learning platforms. The role focuses on AWS SageMaker and related tooling, with responsibilities across automation, security, and modernization of cloud-based analytics environments.

The position is hybrid – onsite and remote, in Lafayette, LA or other listed US locations, with collaboration across cross-functional teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure experience.
• Extensive hands-on AWS services experience in cloud-native environments.
• Proven experience with AWS SageMaker or similar ML/Data Science platforms.
• Proficiency in scripting/automation with Python or Shell.
• Familiarity with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience securing cloud environments (IAM and access controls).

Overview

System One is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to strengthen its enterprise Analytics, Data Science, and Machine Learning platforms. This role provides hands on engineering support across AWS based analytics environments, with a strong focus on AWS SageMaker and related Data Science tooling.

This position is required in one of the following locations: Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Birmingham, AL

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with platform engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver system enhancements.

Requirements

• Experience securing cloud environments (IAM, access controls, vulnerability remediation).
• Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools and performance tuning.
• Some exposure to cloud cost optimization or FinOps practices.
• Ability to automate operational tasks to reduce manual efforts.
• Capable of creating clear documentation and collaborating across teams.
