Job summary

System One is seeking an AWS AI/Data Engineer to support the development of AI-driven and analytical capabilities for enterprise data services. This role spans ingestion to monitoring in a fast-moving, enterprise-scale AWS environment within financial services.

The position offers a Hybrid – onsite and remote work model and is required in Knoxville, TN, Lafayette, LA, or Birmingham, AL, with an emphasis on collaboration across security, data, and application teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AI/GenAI tools on AWS (Bedrock, SageMaker, Amazon Q).
• Familiar with embeddings, RAG patterns, and vector databases.
• Strong background with AWS data services (Glue, Athena, DynamoDB, RDS, Redshift).
• Experience building data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows.
• Familiarity with CloudWatch for logging, alerting, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of IAM roles, encryption, and secrets management.

Overview

System One is seeking an AWS AI/Data Engineer to support the development of AI-driven and analytical capabilities for enterprise data services. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across the AI/data stack — from ingestion and transformation to monitoring and optimization — in a fast-moving, enterprise-scale AWS environment within the financial services sector.

This position is required in one of the following locations: Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Birmingham, AL

Responsibilities

• Support the development of AI driven and analytical capabilities for enterprise data services in a fast-moving, enterprise-scale AWS environment within the financial services sector.
• Build and support GenAI solutions using tools like Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, and Amazon Q.
• Collaborate with data and application teams to bring intelligent, cloud-native solutions to life.
• Work with retrieval augmented generation (RAG) patterns, vector databases, and AWS data services to build pipelines that power real business use cases.
• Build and support data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows.
• Utilize CloudWatch for logging, alerting, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with security, data, and application teams to support POCs and drive AI/cloud adoption.

Requirements

• Practical experience with AI/GenAI tools on AWS — Bedrock, SageMaker, Amazon Q, or similar platforms.
• Comfort working with embeddings, RAG patterns, and vector databases.
• Solid background with AWS data services (Glue, Athena, DynamoDB, RDS, Redshift).
• Experience building data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows.
• Familiarity with CloudWatch for logging, alerting, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Ability to collaborate with security, data, and application teams to support POCs and AI/cloud adoption.
• Knowledge of IAM roles/policies, least privilege access, encryption, and secrets management.
• Python scripting skills for automation, REST APIs, and serverless functions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
