Job summary

ClickHouse is seeking a founding backend engineer to own end-to-end integration and set the technical defaults for a growing team. You’ll manage architecture, deployment topology, and data movement decisions while working across trusted partner platforms.

We value experience with modern auth, service principals, and identity federation, plus the ability to ship in ambiguous environments and to collaborate with various engineering groups. This role is remote-friendly and globally distributed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building software, with a focus on data-heavy or integration-oriented systems.
• Solid backend instincts: deployment topology, multi-tenancy, data movement.
• Experience with modern auth protocols, service principals, and identity federation.
• Experience shipping on partner marketplaces or platform ecosystems.
• Comfortable working in ambiguity and making tradeoffs that are reversible or not easily undone.

Responsibilities

• Own the integration end-to-end: design, code, and production system.
• Set technical defaults and architectural direction for the team.
• Be on-call for your own work and own infrastructure, CI, deployment, and observability.
• Collaborate with internal services and partners to define interfaces and unblock progress.
