Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Distinguished Engineer to define the future of data center networking across private cloud and hybrid environments. You will lead architecture, design, and automation efforts, enabling scalable, secure, and observable networks for enterprise-scale platforms.

You will mentor senior engineers, drive strategic investments, and collaborate with OpenStack, Kubernetes, storage, and security teams to deliver resilient cloud networking solutions.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in modern data center networking architectures and large-scale network design.
• Advanced understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols and cloud networking models.
• Experience with private/hybrid/public cloud environments and automation.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term architectural vision for GEICO's data center network infrastructure.
• Lead the design and implementation of software-defined networking capabilities across private and hybrid clouds.
• Build automated network provisioning using APIs, IaC, and GitOps approaches.
• Partner with OpenStack, Kubernetes, and platform teams to deliver integrated cloud networking solutions.
• Drive observability, security, and resilience across enterprise cloud networks.
