Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Cupertino, CA seeks a Senior System Development Engineer to build autonomous test systems for networking platforms and to shape scalable qualification pipelines.

This hands-on role blends software engineering, test infrastructure, and network systems to improve stability and efficiency. You will design production-quality automated test systems, integrate them with lab and orchestration services, and drive reliability of the qualification pipeline for new hardware

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience with networking, storage systems, OS, and hands-on systems engineering.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Experience with building tools for building, testing, releasing or monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test systems that scale across platforms and network roles and operationalize qualification suites in CI and nightly regression pipelines.
• Integrate test systems with lab infrastructure and orchestration services for device lifecycle management.
• Own the reliability and maintainability of your components — eliminate flakiness, drive down qualification runtimes, and continually improve test system reliability.
• Show creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness.
• Debug complex, cross-layer failures spanning test infrastructure, software, hardware and drive root-cause analysis.
• Partner with software, hardware and networking teams release engineering teams to simulate complex real world network designs.
• Raise the engineering bar through design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring of junior engineers.
