Job summary

Florida Power & Light Company is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join the Digital & AI engineering team, focusing on cloud-native, scalable applications within the nuclear energy sector. You’ll design, develop, and maintain services in a regulated environment, leveraging AWS, Docker, and modern frameworks in a hands-on full-stack capacity.

The role emphasizes secure, high-quality software delivery, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and continuous improvement in architecture

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of hands-on software development experience building enterprise-grade applications.
• 2+ years of experience developing and deploying applications on cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Experience working within Agile software development teams.
• Experience building AI-enabled applications or integrating Generative AI capabilities into enterprise software.
• Familiarity with API Gateway technologies and service mesh architecture.
• Experience working in regulated industries (Energy, Utilities, Nuclear, Healthcare, Financial Services).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications using modern development frameworks and best practices.
• Build secure, reliable, and high-performance backend services using Node.js, NestJS, Python, and TypeScript.
• Develop responsive front-end applications using Angular.
• Design, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL databases, ensuring performance, scalability, and data integrity.
• Develop and deploy applications on AWS using serverless and container-based architectures.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated deployment processes.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, UX designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
