IBM Software is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to design, build, and operate core cloud infrastructure components for the Confluent Cloud platform. You will work with Go, Kubernetes, and cloud-native tooling to ensure secure, scalable services across regions.

Qualifications

• Experience reading, debugging, and evolving code in Go, Java, or Python.
• Deep understanding of filesystems, memory, networking, and kernel behavior.
• Production Kubernetes experience and strong cloud platform skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve internal infrastructure services (Go) as Kubernetes operators for Confluent Cloud.
• Own systems to make cloud infrastructure secure, scalable, observable, using GitOps, Terraform, Prometheus, Grafana, and Linux networking.
• Collaborate to enable fast, safe, autonomous deployment via shared tooling and best practices.
• Shared ownership of availability, performance, monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning.
• Scale across tens of thousands of instances and multiple regions for smooth, fast operations.
• Influence architecture and ops strategy for Confluent cloud infrastructure.
• Participate in an 8-hour follow-the-sun on-call rotation.
