Job summary

Florida Digital Service, part of the State of Florida, seeks a Senior Applications Developer to design, develop, and maintain a production-grade SPA powered by scalable cloud-native micro-services. You will work with the Office of Data Management to enable data sharing, interoperability, and secure digital transformation across Florida’s government ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Expert programming skills using modern Object oriented and scripting languages.
• Experience with designing and implementing web applications, APIs, and infrastructure services.
• Experience with Git or other source code repositories.
• Experience with cloud services.
• Experience with Penetration Testing engagements.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, web services, and modern application integration patterns.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and DevOps principles.
• Has strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Experience designing and securing authentication and authorization systems, including SSO, OAuth/OIDC, JWTs, and both role/asset-based access control.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze the current state of data systems, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and provide recommendations for prioritizing actions and improvements.
• Ability to apply System Development Life Cycles (SDLC) methodologies and secure software development practices.
• Familiarity with a variety of datasets, structured, semi-structured and unstructured, etc.
