Job summary

Fastly seeks a Senior Engineer to join the Cloud and Container Services team. You will design, deploy, and operate a multi-cloud, hybrid infrastructure powering Fastly's Kubernetes-based control plane.

You’ll optimize reliability, scale, and security while collaborating across time zones and with internal customers. You should have 5+ years in distributed systems, strong Kubernetes, Go and Python skills, Terraform experience, and a track record delivering production-grade platforms with CI/CD

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in senior engineering roles.
• Production-grade Kubernetes across regions/clouds.
• Proficiency in Go and Python.
• Terraform and cloud provider experience (AWS/GCP).
• CI/CD and GitOps experience with code review workflows.
• Monitoring with Prometheus, Datadog, Grafana.
• Distributed teamwork across time zones.
• Experience leveraging AI tooling to accelerate work.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate cloud and on-prem infrastructure for a multi-cloud platform.
• Diagnose and resolve performance and reliability issues across tech stack.
• Deploy and support complex applications and services.
• Write automation tools for maintenance and deployment.
• Collaborate with internal users and evolve platform features.
• Drive projects across time zones and coordinate access in multi-cloud environments.
