Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience managing IT infrastructure in a small-to-medium sized organization.
• Experience administering cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience supporting Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Experience managing identity and access systems and implementing security controls.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain cloud infrastructure, identity management systems, and core digital services to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing operations.
• Partner with internal and external IT teams to support networking, hardware, software, and technology services across the organization.
• Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate escalation with vendors or service providers when necessary.
• Collaborate with research and laboratory teams to integrate scientific instruments, software applications, databases, and digital technologies into the broader infrastructure environment.
• Manage user access, onboarding and offboarding processes, backup and disaster recovery solutions, and business continuity practices.
• Ensure compliance with security, data protection, regulatory, and institutional requirements while maintaining appropriate governance and risk controls.
• Support research computing initiatives, including coordination with high-performance computing resources and data analysis platforms.
• Manage technology vendors, contribute to procurement activities, maintain technical documentation, and support the ongoing development of the organization’s digital technology roadmap.
