Job summary

Medtronic is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to build and run the cloud infrastructure behind the Affera Digital Platform. This role can be based in Newton, MA or Mounds View, MN with at least four days onsite.

You will manage Terraform-based AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and tooling, while ensuring security, compliance, and scalable performance across regions. Collaboration with global teams and AI-enabled development is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience.
• Terraform at scale with modular design, state management, multi-environment and multi-region deployments.
• AWS services including ECS/Fargate, EC2, Auto Scaling, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFront, ALB; observability via CloudWatch; CI/CD with GitLab or similar.

Responsibilities

• Serve as US-based point of contact for platform reliability and monitoring improvements.
• Evolve Terraform-based AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling.
• Collaborate with security and cloud teams on reviews and compliance.
• Contribute to architecture decisions around scalability, cost, and security.
