Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Software/Platform Engineer to advance cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS. You will design Terraform modules, own platform components in Java, C#, or TypeScript, and mentor engineers while guiding architectural delivery. Remote-friendly within the U.S. with in-office cadence for certain hubs.

You will lead design reviews, optimize CI/CD, and deliver secure, scalable platform capabilities with a focus on reliability and operational readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software or platform engineering experience.
• Production development in Java, C#, or TypeScript with testing and reviews.
• Advanced Terraform with reusable modules and CI/CD delivery.
• Deep cloud infra expertise across Azure or AWS domains.
• Ability to design abstractions and evolve shared frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve Terraform modules and shared abstractions.
• Lead architecture within a platform domain for secure, scalable solutions.
• Develop components in Java, C#, or TypeScript and integrate with Terraform and cloud APIs.
• Apply best engineering practices, testing strategies and API design.
• Lead code/design reviews for complex changes and maintainability.
• Create and improve GitLab CI/CD pipelines and policy controls.
• Mentor engineers and drive medium-scale technical initiatives.
• Participate in weekly on-call rotations and incident handling.
• Improve Agile delivery, documentation and operational readiness.
• Design AI-assisted workflows to boost productivity and platform ops.
