Job summary

Medtronic plc in the United States (Newton, MA or Mounds View, MN) is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to build and run the cloud infrastructure behind the Affera Digital Platform. This role is based primarily on site with a minimum of four days onsite.

You will manage Terraform-based AWS environments, CI/CD pipelines, and security reviews, collaborating with backend, frontend, and DevOps teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance for healthcare workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant infrastructure experience.
• Proficiency with Terraform at scale and multi-environment deployments.
• Experience with AWS services including ECS/Fargate, EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3.
• Observability and troubleshooting using CloudWatch or equivalent.
• CI/CD experience with GitLab CI or similar, Docker/ECR tooling.
• Cloud security practices and working through security reviews (VPC, IAM, KMS, WAF).
• Healthcare or regulated-industry compliance (HIPAA, FDA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as a US-based point of contact for platform reliability, improving monitoring, alerting, and dashboards.
• Evolve Terraform-based AWS infrastructure along with CI/CD pipelines, environments, and developer tooling.
• Collaborate with security and cloud teams on reviews and compliance, and engage across US/Europe teams.
