Job summary

Coinbase seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Core Infra Systems within the Platform group. You will own cross-cutting infrastructure initiatives across AWS, GCP, and Networking, building self-service tooling and paved-road defaults to empower product teams with safe, scalable cloud provisioning.

You will collaborate with Compute, Infra Security, and Routing to embed guardrails and standardize infrastructure across Coinbase's multi-cloud environment, driving reliable, scalable foundations

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years building and operating production cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP (networking, compute, or platform engineering).
• Hands-on experience with cloud networking primitives such as VPCs, transit gateways, DNS, load balancers, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi).
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Python).
• Demonstrated ability to drive cross-team technical initiatives and deliver production-ready outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own cross-cutting infrastructure initiatives spanning AWS, GCP, and Networking pillars inside Core Infra Systems.
• Build and maintain self-service tooling and paved-road defaults for safe provisioning and operation of cloud infrastructure.
• Partner with Compute, Infra Security, and Routing teams to embed guardrails into provisioning and meet security and reliability standards.
• Drive standardization across Coinbase's multi-cloud environment to reduce fragmentation and improve consistency.
• Lead technical investigations and operational improvements across infrastructure boundaries.
